What does vacation mean to you? For me it’s sometimes a time to relax and get away from work and chores and reality for a moment. To go to new places. Explore new things, try new foods, new experiences. Sometimes it is to be able to get caught up on house chores, harvest the garden crops, pressure wash the house, do errands that we aren’t able to get finished in a normal work week. How do you plan where to go on vacation? Sometimes we choose a place that is familiar. Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, myrtle beach. Sometimes we choose a place that is new to us or a place that we frequented briefly in passing when traveling to or from a previous destination and we thought “wow, we would love to come back here.” Sometimes we let someone else choose that is going with us that haven’t had the experience of going to as many places. I will blog someday about the different places and things we have experienced on past vacations and maybe somethings that we have done on more recent ones. Sometimes we choose to go to the beach and sometimes it’s the mountains, and sometimes its neither. Sometimes it’s a quick get away and other times for a week or maybe two. I haven’t gotten my nerve up to fly yet so driving is typically the way to travel and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s a bonding experience for family and friends. My husband talks to me more when traveling in the car than he ever does through a normal week. There’s so much that you just happen upon when driving and traveling that you would miss from a plane. If we had flown to Montana, we would never have happened into a gas station that sold Caribou Coffee. And Caribou coffee something that I have fallen in love with. So much better than Starbucks in my opinion. And it was the only establishment in all of Wyoming that sold it. Now a lot of our trips center around where can we go and be able to get Caribou coffee. Another thing that we would have missed if we had flown back from Montana is the Badlands which is quite a sight to behold and we wouldn’t have happened to go through the Wisconsin Dells. This is a place that was a wow moment. We left thinking, ” wow, we really need to come back here.” Which we did and loved it. God has created such beauty in our country and when blessed with the opportunity one should try to experience it even if it’s a park thats right down the road.

Delicious. A white chocolate mocha Cooler
